What are the N and V parameters
N and V are parameters indicating:
N = sum of credits (CFUs) taken
V = weighted average of the grades of the exams taken determined at the end of the 2nd year from the “beginning of the career”
They determine the possibility for students graduating from the School of Architecture Urban Planning Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano to be admitted by right to the Master's Degree Courses in continuity, i.e., upon application and without evaluation.
Students admitted by right have priority in the allocation of available places.
The application for admission to the Laurea Magistrale must be submitted through online services, within the prescribed deadlines, with no obligation to upload the documentation required for other students.

The calculation criteria were decided by the Academic Senate: it is not possible for the School to recalculate the N and V parameters.
New criteria for direct admission will be effective from the 2028/29 academic year, applied to students enrolled from the 2025/26 academic year onwards. Coming soon: full details will be available in the regulations.
Requirements for direct admission:
- regularly enrolled (not repeating) in the third year of a Bachelor’s Degree programme at Politecnico di Milano in the 2027/28 academic year;
- at least 144 ECTS credits (CFU) earned and recorded in their academic career by the end of the fifth semester from first enrolment, with a weighted average grade of 25;
- English language certification obtained within the established deadlines.
These requirements can be used only once, within the dedicated application window, during the third year of enrolment. They can be verified through the student’s academic record and study plan and may vary depending on the Master’s Degree programme the student intends to apply for.
Students may enrol in one of the Master’s Degree programmes for which they are granted direct admission or, alternatively, waive this right and apply for evaluation to other programmes.
The number of students admitted to PSPA programmes will be limited based on the number of available places.
Parameters valid for applications for direct admission for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 academic years (students enrolled up to the 2024/25 academic year)
Students who have obtained a degree that meets the admission requirements at the Politecnico di Milano and who:
Graduated within 4 years from the first enrollment;
With the N/V* parameter fulfilled by October 10 of the second calendar year from the first enrollment,
With English language certification acquired within the established deadlines. For the academic year 2025/2026, for the Degree Program in "Architecture - Architecture," the N and V parameters are as follows:
Students enrolled from the academic year 2003/04 to the academic year 2009/10: N/V 100/25
Students enrolled from the academic year 2010/11: N/V 104/27
Admission to the LM-4 class Master's Degree Programs is not allowed for students who graduated in classes other than L-17, even with the N/V parameter fulfilled.
