Datascapes. Logistics, Design, Innovation
Honours Programme 2025
Period: September 2025 – January 2026
Venue: Politecnico di Milano, AUIC School – Leonardo Campus
Languages: Italian and English
Datascapes. Logistics, Design, Innovation is an advanced training programme (Honours Programme) promoted by DAStU – Department of Architecture and Urban Studies and the AUIC School – Architecture, Built Environment and Interiors, in collaboration with Techbau SpA. The programme aims to promote scientific research and develop technical skills with a special focus on data centre design and the regeneration of disused or underutilised logistics assets.
The digital economy is rapidly expanding, and the construction of data centres is growing fast in Italy as well. This transformation poses new challenges for the territories that host such infrastructures, for the companies designing and building them, and for the research community assessing their impacts.
The programme addresses these issues with an integrated, multidisciplinary, and multi-scalar approach – from territorial to architectural level – combining theoretical lectures, case studies, project-based work, and interactive sessions with experts.
Key Topics
Urban regeneration strategies and models (global, European, local) with a focus on logistics assets.
Processes, projects, and best practices, with attention to economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
Innovative concepts, prototypes, and demo-projects related to data centres and digital infrastructure.
Regulatory and operational tools, governance models, and implementation processes.
