“Plans for Waliców St. The Memory of a Place in the Contemporary City” which will take place on 17 November 2020 at 6 p.m. on Facebook profile of ZODIAK Warsaw Pavilion of Architecture and on You Tube (English translation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0YRYccCNe0&feature=youtu.be

The event is organized by the POLIN Museum, the City of Warsaw (Economic Development Department) and the Association of Polish Architects (Warsaw Branch).

The discussion is dedicated to the prewar houses on Waliców St. in Warsaw. The three buildings which survived the ghetto liquidation and the Warsaw Uprising represent a unique and organic cultural asset of national and international interest, which therefore must be preserved as a unicum through a recovery and reuse project that respects its one-of-the-kind historic identity.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss plans for the Waliców St. tenements  proposed by the City of Warsaw among architects, urban planners, conservator of monuments, representatives of the municipal authorities and private investors experienced in revitalization projects.

Our special guest will be Italian architects, Professor Ilaria Valente, Dean of the School of Architecture, Urban Design, Construction and Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and Professors Guido Morpurgo and Annalisa de Curtis who launched a series of classes titled “The Waliców Project” at Politecnico di Milano. During these classes, students of the Milan Polytechnic develop projects dedicated to the revitalization of buildings along Waliców.
