International seminar

25/9 - 1-5/10 Made in Italy and the Transatlantic Transfer

The international symposium "Made in Italy and the Transatlantic Transfer. Architecture, Design and Planning, 1955-1972" aims to examine and debate the presence and the dissemination of Italian architectural culture in North and South America from the mid-1950s to the early 1970s. Focusing on this critical time span, papers will discuss how the relationship between Italy and the Americas evolved and how actors located on both sides of the Atlantic interacted at multiple levels. Such observations will be developed from four perspectives, corresponding to just as many panels (Layers, Vectors, Questioning the Transfer and Trajectories).

This virtual symposium will be held in English.
