The former astronaut and now Professor at MIT AeroAstro Department Jeffrey Hoffman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_A._Hoffman) will held an “inspirational talk” for students and faculty on Sept. 18 from 3.30 pm to 4.45 pm at the end of the first class of the course in “Architecture for Space Exploration” held by Professor Valentina Sumini.
The talk by Professor Hoffman will be dedicated to his experience both as astronaut and as project leader at the MIT AeroAstro in the collaborations with NASA. Among them, he will present some aspects of the mission Perseverance for which he designed a tool for the extraction of the oxygen from the martian soil (https://news.mit.edu/2020/perseverance-and-little-moxie-mit-going-to-mars-0729).
